Lita Seng, Cambodian Student October 2024 update

We are also actively involved in these Rotary Strategic Projects: Polio Eradication, Rotary Oceania Medical Aid for Children (ROMAC), Interplast, Art Building Children’s Dreams (ABCD)

The Rotary Club of Glen Waverley has entered into an agreement to sponsor a student for 12 months in Cambodia through the Cambodia Rural Students Trust. The student is Lita Seng who is a member of the Trust [through a scholarship] and is a second year tertiary student.

Father Jason Micheni gave us an update on progress with the Kenya Farming and Village Project.

For Chris Ellard, Africa is a magical place. A keen photographer, he had gone there on a safari (of the camera variety).It is a place with a strong spiritual presence.It is a place to fall in love with.And so he came to Kihato under the shadow of Mount Kenya. The mountain itself was a photographer's dream.

Such events were unique in this remote Kenyan village, near the equator. It was a bittersweet moment that had been born of one man’s determination that tragedy would have a happy ending.
