Safer Communities in Monash

On 10 February 2020 the Rotary Club of Glen Waverley and Victoria Police Glen Waverley launched the Residential Information Kit. The kit is designed to give residents in Monash a quick easy guide to some of the issues facing us in our everyday lives.

The useful Kits are available, free of charge, from Police Stations in the Monash area.

The Rotary Club of Glen Waverley has initiated a programme of financial support to the Holmesglen Institute of TAFE at the Waverley campus that will enable scholarships to be awarded to students in financial need over the years 2019-2020.

Quilt Show to Support Local Women's Group

The local paper picked up the story! RCGW were to run a quilt show. The proceeds were to go 'Women Building Bridges': a local group who help newly-arrived and refugee women to integrate into Australian society. They sent along a photographer and the story made the press. This was wonderful for boosting attendance.

Rotary Serving the Community at Christmas 2018

Thanks to Ray White Real Estate and their generosity, our Rotary Club distributed presents to the Salvation Army in Glen Waverley and to the Monash Childrens Hospital.

A little "ray of giving" promotion also to the Monash Children's Hospital via Radio Lollipop, puts smiles on children's faces when they are sick with music fun and games.

In conjunction with Soap Aid to reduce trachoma in indigenous areas, the Western Australian Health Department is running an education programme to keep faces and hands clean. Rotary has linked up to raise soap donations and help reduce this disease. This is our second year of contributions raising 50 kgs of soap. Our target for next year is another 50kgs.
