Thank you to the support of the Glen Waverley Rotary Club

The science experience involved going to the RMIT campuses in the City and Bundoora and completing various activities based around STEM and science in general ranging from designing crumple zones on model cars to learning how to extract essential oils using a coffee maker.
The thing we enjoyed most was the workshop focused on pharmacy where we dripped liquids containing different amount of Vitamin C into a solution of iodine and watched it turn clear.
We also got to make miniature rockets at the same workshop by placing alka seltzer tablets into film canisters with water and the pressure made the containers pop up into the air.
The most challenging thing about the science experience was the group project we did at the end as some groups were very divided on what to do however it was still fun. Another challenge was traveling to the city in the cold weather!
Regardless, getting involved in new experiences and learning more about science and technology whilst meeting and befriending the other students was a lot of fun.
