District 9815 Grant for Electrically Adjustable Art Tables at Glenallen School - 2025
District Grant for Electrically Adjustable Art Tables at Glenallen School.
Glenallen School in Glen Waverley caters for students from Prep to Year 12 who have physical disabilities.
There are students of very different ages and abilities, so equipment has to be adjustable to suit these children.
The existing art tables were very old, and difficult for the art teacher to manually adjust at the start of every class. Rotary District 9815 Grant was to supply and assemble 5 electrically adjustable art tables.
Three Rotarians assembled the tables with the assistance of the school maintenance man. These tables can be quickly custom adjusted to suit each child.
Robyn the art teacher said “Thank you to all involved in helping us to get the 5 new tables - they not only look fantastic - but are incredibly functional for all of our students and their vast range of physical needs, and easy to use for all staff”
Rotary Club of Monash Glen Waverley has had a long association with helping Glenallen School.
In a previous District Grant we provided 3 mobile, lockable, base-weighted stands that held the students computers, and which the students could not accidentally knock over.
Another District Grant was to provide a harp and a metal drum. Both of these instruments can be played by students with poor co-ordination and dexterity.
The photos show one of the Year 7 students and one of the Prep students working at the new tables.
